Case Study: Project 1117460 CIDP19 KEOG Blg 14 Refurbishment
Project Objectives
The refurbishment of the Male & Female toilets in Building 14 at Keogh Barracks was required to give a higher standard of facilities for the JRM visitors and Costa shop staff. Striping out the old damaged interior of these toilets and fully refurbishing them.
Previous Issues
Leaks, breaks, bursts and age were the main issues along with this being a high footfall area. The toilets were dated and had almost become condemned. Amey, DIO & DDR set about a project to fully refurbish the toilets as part of a larger operation to bring the estate at Keogh to a higher standard for the military & civilians.
Works Carried Out
The scope was clear, floors up, toilets out, cubicles & windows out. Paint & tiles on the walls, new basins, pans, dividers, double glazing, ventilation and LED lighting solution, all part of the full scale overhaul. The entirety of the male & female toilets were stripped out leaving a bare empty shell for DDR to start afresh.

Summary
Everything was stripped out in its entirety, with the install of new floors, cubicles, pans, basins, mirrors, dryers, radiators & more. Works took 13 weeks to complete leaving minimum of one toilet available throughout for Costa staff and a lot of hard work from DDR. Carl the Project Manager worked alongside DIO and DDR to set about a transformation of the facility which was long overdue.
Case Study: Project 1126714 Bdg 47 Rehab Gym PBF - Floor Replacement
Project Objectives
Removal of heavy equipment to make way for the work team.
Removal of the damaged rehab floor, replacing the subfloor along with adding water prevention to the entire building to stop this happening in the future.
Laying new flooring, cutting to size and sealing.
Previous Issues
Due to an unforeseen issue with sewage water leaking underneath the rehab gym floor as well as water seeping under the side doors the floor begun to sink and become unstable and somewhat unsafe due to the crevasses under the floor leading to boards breaking under the heavy weights of the rehabilitating soldiers which they were lifting.
Works Carried Out
The army generously removed all of their heavy gym equipment which left other machines to be moved out of the way in preparation for the floor removal. Once the old floor was removed and put into the skip it was time replace the subfloor along with water prevention. When the contractors were happy with the subfloor and knowing no water would make its way into the new floor, it was time to start laying the new floor and my what a great looking floor it is! The building custodian and army staff were very pleased with the finished results.

Summary
Following short term fixes it was time to replace the Rehab Gym floor over the Christmas period our contractor set about the removal of the old damaged floor + subfloor. The new multi coloured strengthen floor will last a long time as well as a great aid to rehabilitating soldiers
